Muhammad Usman is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and an AFPA, with a Master of Commerce and twelve years in audit, tax and finance. He trained in the tax department of KPMG in Lahore, then spent five and a half years as Manager Finance and Tax at a manufacturer, personally responsible for everything the FBR asked of it. That is an unusual combination: audit-firm discipline about documentation, plus the experience of being the one whose name is on the return when a notice arrives.
Most tax problems people bring to a consultant are not exotic. They are a return filed on the wrong head of income, a wealth statement that does not reconcile, an exemption that was never claimed, or a notice that has been ignored for three months. He has handled all of them from the taxpayer's side of the desk, which is why the advice here tends to be about what you can substantiate if the department asks, rather than what you can get away with.
